Charleston Weekend-Part 2: Tours, history & FOOD! 🍴
One of my favorite things we did was the Charleston French Quarter Food Tour with
Secret Food Tours. Our guide, Joe, was amazing! Not only did we get to try some great Charleston food, but we learned so much about the history of the city as we walked through the French Quarter.
And we definitely didn't leave hungry!
We tried Carolina BBQ at Poogan's Porch; 🦐Shrimp & grits, hush puppies, and pimento cheese at Oyster House; Cola-braised short ribs at 🍷Well Hung Vineyard, and finished with pecan clusters from a local sweet shop.
It was such a fun way to experience Charleston because it combined sightseeing, history and local food all in one tour. I would absolutely recommend it
—and if you can get Joe as your guide, even better!
We also took a horse-drawn carriage tour with Old South Carriage Company, which was another great way to see Charleston and learn more about the history and architecture of the city. 🐴 Our horse was Aiken! Did you know they reward their horses with a pint of Guinness after their shifts? 🍺
If you're visiting Charleston for the first time, I would definitely put these tours on your list!
