🚌💛 IT'S NATIONAL SCHOOL BUS SAFETY WEEK!💛🚌
October 19–23, 2026
Safe Rides, Everyday Heroes!
Every school day, thousands of dedicated pupil transportation professionals across Ohio work tirelessly to make sure our students arrive at school safely and return home to their families.
But school bus safety doesn't begin and end with the people behind the wheel. It's a responsibility we ALL share!
🚍 Motorists: Slow down, eliminate distractions, obey school bus warning lights, and NEVER pass a stopped school bus with its stop arm extended when traffic is required to stop. 🛑
🚍 Parents and Families: Talk with your children about safe behavior at the bus stop, while boarding and exiting, and throughout their ride.
🚍 Students: Listen to your driver, follow the rules, and always be aware of your surroundings.
🚍 Transportation Professionals: Continue doing what you do best...putting the safety and well-being of our students FIRST, every single day.
To our OAPT members and transportation colleagues throughout Ohio, THANK YOU! We know the challenges you face, the early mornings, the long afternoons, and the tremendous responsibility you carry. Your work matters, your dedication does not go unnoticed, and the impact you make on the lives of Ohio's students is immeasurable.
School Bus Safety Week may only last five days, but our commitment to student safety lasts all 180 days of the school year and beyond!
Let's make this week count, Ohio! Remember, those flashing red lights aren't a suggestion...they're protecting someone's child.
IF YOU PASS, YOU’RE AN ASS! 🫏 🛑
💛 Every stop. Every student. Every day. 💛
