After some back and forth with my good friend Paul - straight from the brain bank of Dipsh*t Hydrographics &Cerakote we are now offering another customization to your euros. I took the plunge and got an engraver to keep my tags in house so they can be done on the fly with you the hunter as you drop your harvests off and decide on what route you want to take.

Of course we had to take it up a notch and when Paul first brought up the concept of discretely engraving the stats of your harvest onto the jaw of a skull, I knew he was onto an awesome idea - and here we have it!

The sky’s the limit and we look forward to hearing from you!

Happy Friday Yall!

Got a busy weekend on deck here at the dead shed with some finish work, sessioning the fleshing wheel and getting some prep work done on what’s next on the list!

Wanted to share a new plaque option in collaboration with Wayne A Dannat at Wayne's Wood Originals - always thinking about fresh and new, and utilizing his engraving services and hand drawn maple leafs on my hand cut plaques seemed like a perfect match!

Simple and handcrafted here in Vermont by Vermonters!

Available in a variety of shapes and stain colors here at Dead Heads Taxidermy. Thanks for the partnership Wayne!

One last straggler from 2025 - want to take this opportunity to talk about proper care with your harvest if your looking to have it euro mounted. There’s many different ways to skin a cat out there and everyone doing euros has their methods. For how I’m doing them, in order to get them looking pearly white and clean as in the photo, that starts with how the hunter has kept it before dropping it off - and it’s not rocket science!

🦌 Preferably - keep the fur on, this acts as a safety barrier between the skull and the outside world.

🦌 If you can’t get it here immediately, toss it in your freezer. If you don’t have freezer space, find a safe place and submerge the skull in a bucket of water (preferably out of direct sunlight if it’s got a rack on it).

🦌 Don’t let it rot and dry up, this can cause permanent discoloration as blood and grease embeds itself inside the micro pores of your skull - You want that skull froze or hydrated as it waits to be euro mounted.

Very simple steps here ladies and gents! Thank you Greg for the continued support and for keeping your sons buck properly stored!

🚨 THIS WEEK’S NORTHWOODS DROP

Join Connor Schellong on a late-season muzzleloader hunt in Massachusetts. Cold temperatures and fresh snow made for some great late-season conditions.

Sometimes a change of plans is all it takes. A last-minute decision put Connor in the right place at the right time — and ended with a big Massachusetts stud on the ground!

🎥 Full video drops TOMORROW on YouTube.

Head over to the Northwoods Whitetails YouTube channel and subscribe so you don’t miss it. The link will also be posted here when the film goes live.

2026 Bears are rollin in like crazy this season! Nice to see so many hunters getting after it and filling some tags right off the bat. The bear population could use some thinning in the green mountains, that’s for damn sure!

Congrats on your bear Jack and thank you for choosing DHT this season - always nice to meet some new faces every season.

With archery season starting up, so is the first of this year’s pools. As you’re stopping in to grab that one thing you swore was already in your bow bag, or starting to get things squared away for r***e season, don’t forget to sign your youth or novice hunter up for our Youth & Novice Deer Pool.

We wanted this one to be about more than just who shoots the biggest deer. Everyone who signs up will have a chance at some great prizes, whether they fill a tag or not. We’ll be randomly drawing multiple winners for our gift cards, a Backwoods Butcher gift card to help with processing, and a Dead Heads Taxidermy gift card good toward a euro or shoulder mount as well as some shwag.

And for the youth or novice hunter lucky enough to harvest the heaviest deer during Youth & Novice Weekend, we’ve got something pretty special waiting.
A one-of-one Savage .243, finished by Paul at Dipsh*t Hydrographics in his Jackson PAULock six-color Cerakote, plus a gift card from Dead Heads Taxidermy to have the winning deer euro mounted.

The best part of that weekend has never been what ends up hanging on the wall. Even if a deer never crosses your path, you’re still out there with the people who matter, making memories and hopefully building a tradition that lasts a whole lot longer than the weekend. And this year, you’ll still have a chance to take something home regardless.

Stop in and get your youth or novice hunter signed up.

Quick update here as the season kicks off and 2026 harvest are already rolling in:

I am behind on 2025 shoulder mounts! Doing my best to speed things up but I am not willing to compromise quality work to rush them out the door. Likely will cut off intake on 2026 mounts earlier so I’m not getting too backed up. This will be my second season taking them in and will be making adjustments as I continue to learn my work flow and what I can practically do in a year. Your patience and understanding is appreciated as I continue to develop this piece of my business!

This is still a part time venture for me - just a friendly reminder that I am by appointment only so please text or call ahead to schedule a time to meet. M-F during the days I am at my full time job so if I don’t respond right off I will get back to you as soon as I can.

For this season I am only taking on what is listed on my price sheet and portfolio - any projects not listed I’d be happy to point you in the right direction as I don’t have the space of bandwidth at this time for anything not listed.

Short and sweet, thank you for reading along - I appreciate everyone of you who have supported this business in all capacities and I do hope everyone has a great season this year regardless to what tags your filling. It’s about so much more then having the biggest rack or biggest animal in the back of your truck and to post online - the woods shows you so much more if you really take it all in every time you get out there.

Have fun, make smart choices and we look forward to hearing from you!
