There's the time spent waiting at shippers and receivers. The traffic and delays. The unexpected breakdowns and roadside repairs. The long hours behind the wheel after the sun goes down. And the nights spent parked somewhere far from home.

These are the parts of trucking that don't always make the picture, but they're a very real part of the job. Our drivers make those sacrifices every day to keep freight moving and get the job done.

🚛 We're Hiring! Full-Time Truck & Trailer Mechanic 🔧

Richers Trucking is looking for a dependable, motivated full-time Truck & Trailer Mechanic to join our team in Wever, Iowa.

If you enjoy diagnosing problems, keeping trucks running safely, and taking pride in quality work, we'd love to hear from you!

What You'll Do:
- Perform preventative maintenance on Class 8 trucks and trailers
- Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical issues
- Service brake, suspension, steering, and air systems
- Perform tire repairs and replacements as needed
- Complete repairs efficiently while maintaining high safety standards
- Help keep our fleet operating at its best

Qualifications:
✔ Diesel mechanic experience preferred
✔ Experience with heavy-duty trucks and trailers
✔ Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
✔ Valid driver's license required (CDL is a plus)
✔ Dependable, self-motivated, and team-oriented

✨ Today’s Term: Disco Lights 🚨

Meaning: The flashing lights on an emergency vehicle, such as a police car, fire truck, or ambulance.

Drivers may use the term "disco lights" to quickly let others know there's an emergency vehicle or traffic stop ahead.

CB Example: "Watch your speed. There are disco lights up ahead."
Translation: There's an emergency vehicle with flashing lights ahead.

Whether it's a traffic stop or an accident scene, those disco lights are your cue to slow down, stay alert, and move over when it's safe to do so.

✨ Today’s Term: Wall-to-Wall and Treetop Tall 🌲

Meaning: A classic CB phrase used to tell another driver their radio signal is coming through loud and clear.

Before cell phone calls, drivers relied on CB radios. If someone told you that you were "wall-to-wall and treetop tall," it meant your signal was strong and easy to understand.

CB Example: "You're wall-to-wall and treetop tall, driver."
Translation: Your signal is coming through loud and clear.
