September is National Preparedness Month, and in Kansas, being prepared means being ready for just about anything Mother Nature throws our way.

It may still feel like summer outside, but fall weather, and eventually winter, is right around the corner. If you’re flying during Kansas’ ever-changing weather seasons, keep an eye on the forecast, check your airline’s app for updates, and give yourself plenty of time to get to ICT.

A little preparation can go a long way toward a smoother travel day! ✈️

- Learn about the hazards that impact Sedgwick County
- Sign up for Civic Ready emergency notifications at https://www.sedgwickcounty.org/emergency-management/civic-ready-alerts/
- Add another warning source, such as Wireless Emergency Alerts, NOAA Weather Radio, official National Weather Service information or local media.

Knowing your risks and having more than one way to receive warnings can help you make safer decisions during an emergency.

Apply in advance, get approved and go through the TSA PreCheck lane without a boarding pass.

Update 9/2/26: All appointments are full. Additional events are expected in September.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) will host a Global Entry Enrollment Event on September 5 at Eisenhower National Airport in Wichita. Global Entry is a CBP program that provides expedited clearance for pre-approved, low-risk travelers entering the United States. Members can quickly complete the entry process using Global Entry technology available at select airports nationwide.

This enrollment event is for applicants who have already received conditional approval and need to complete their in-person interview to finalize their enrollment. Walk-ins will not be accepted.

All appointments will take place at Wichita Eisenhower National Airport in the mezzanine-level conference rooms. Parking is available in the Short-Term Lot, located directly across from the terminal, and is free for the first 60 minutes.

To schedule an appointment, log in to your Trusted Traveler Programs account at https://ttp.dhs.gov/ and select Wichita – ICT as your interview location.

We’ve officially made airport history!

July 2026 was the busiest month ever recorded at ICT, with 99,583 passengers taking off from Wichita, just 417 passengers shy of 100,000 enplanements for the month.

We’ve celebrated quite a few records lately, but this one is especially exciting. Thank you to our passengers for continuing to choose ICT and helping us reach new heights.
