Really good article to take the time to read regarding the on-going debate about commerical insurance policies.

"Commercial auto has been unprofitable for fourteen consecutive years. Crash rates are actually declining. The losses are not coming from the highway. Marsal Trucking held a Safety and Compliance meeting today facilitated by Scott Mayfield with Mayfield Carrier Services to discuss topics related to: distracted driving, driver responsibility, the importance of always operating within the law, sleeper berth, CVSA National Roadcheck, HOS and using paper logs, review of DUTY statuses and use of the Agriculture-Exemption.

Chris Gall with ProValue Insurance was also in attendance to talk about our CAB report and how that relates to and affects us on the insurance side. Thank you for the great information and 100% attendance from Drivers!

This week, FMCSA and state law enforcement partners across the country are participating in Operation SafeDRIVE—a multi-state, high-visibility enforcement and education effort to encourage safe driving habits and help reduce crashes and fatalities with CMVs.

During Operation SafeDRIVE, drivers are reminded to:
• Follow traffic laws—buckle up, obey speed limits, slow down in work zones, and avoid distractions
• Keep vehicles properly maintained and in safe working condition
• Stay compliant with hours of service, medical certification, and driver licensing requirements
