The Luzerne County Transportation Authority is the public transportation provider in Luzerne County, PA. Formed in Wilkes-Barre in 1972, we provide public transportation in a 900-square mile area in Northeastern Pennsylvania. In 2023, we provided 900,000 fixed route and shared ride passenger trips. LCTA offers convenient and affordable transportation to essential services such as employment, educa

tion, medical care, grocery shopping, and nutrition. This includes ensuring for seniors have access to health care and supporting the continued independence of transit-dependent individuals. LCTA currently has 18 bus routes and a Shared Ride Program that transports seniors, people with disabilities, and people on medical assistance. LCTA plays a vital role in our community, connecting people and places; it is an essential lifeline. LCTA introduced LCTA CONNECTS โ€“ the first microtransit service in NEPA -- in November 2024.

Attention Mohegan Pennsylvania Passengers:
Temporary Bus Stop Change Extended Through Sept. 11

From now through Sept. 11, 2026, LCTA buses will use a temporary bus stop at Mohegan Pennsylvania instead of the normal stop. Buses will stop at the entrance to the Hotel / Convention Center (not the Casino entrance).

Bus Arrival & Drop-off/Pick-up:
After Lot B, buses will make the first right at the stop sign and proceed down the hill.
At the next stop sign, buses will continue straight and pick up/drop off at the area for shuttle buses and motorcoaches.

Please note that the temporary stop will remain in place for every trip each day.

A single ride is just $1.75, but a Day Pass is only $4!

๐ŸŽŸ๏ธ Day Passes can be purchased right on the bus and allow passengers to ride round trip for less than the cost of two single rides.

The LCTA family mourns the passing of longtime Board Member Lynette Villano, who dedicated more than 10 years of service to our organization.

Lynetteโ€™s commitment, leadership, and dedication to LCTA and the community will be deeply missed. We are grateful for the time, energy, and heart she shared with our organization throughout the years. For most of her tenure, Lynette served as Secretary to the Board.

Inbound: the bus is staying on Carey St. to River St.

Rt. 14: Elm Street is closed; the bus is using Alta to the Sans Souci Parkway to Main, inbound and outbound.

After Lot B, buses will make the first right at the stop sign and proceed down the hill.
At the next stop sign, buses will continue straight and pick up/drop off at the area for shuttle buses and motorcoaches.

Buses will not pick up in front of the driveway with the overhang, as they did last week.

Please note that the temporary stop will remain in place for every trip each day.
