Some paint, some teamwork, and some laughs 🎨🧡
Facilities Fixer Jay, Summer Intern Logan and Lineman Joe refurbished our windsock pole last week with a fresh coat of bright Safety Orange and installed a brand-new windsock generously provided by TITAN Aviation Fuels .

The project hit one small (or ‘extra large’ if you ask Jay) snag when we discovered the windsock was large enough to be seen from the ISS... so obviously Jay had to fashion it into a runway-ready toga, who wouldn’t do the same??

But now the right windsock is flying proudly, and the airport is looking better than ever.

These airport sunsets are worth the whiplash of pressure changes, the oppressive humidity and all the gnarly pop-up thunderstorms that come with a Virginia August.
