Last post of 2021.
Perhaps my last post on social media.
The Harkers Island skiff is completed on my end.
Now the sweat equity from the owner to pretty her up.

The Harkers skiff, built in 1974 is coming along nicely.
Hull faired, but not perfectly.
The primer coat on it will show whats left after its guide coated.
Templates created for the plastic honeycomb composite deck going into to her.
Smells really sweet in the shop.
That aromatic smell of juniper and cypress.

All the wood is in now.
The whiskey plank went in friday morning and didnt have any whiskey, so i guess its the water plank.
The chine blocks installed including a partial plank on the bottom.
Hull glassed today and epoxy on interior wood.

Wirh the light low this time of year, it sure floods in.
Grateful its 81 outside and im back in shorts.

Portside finished planking, faired, and buttered up with epoxy and microspheres.
Starboard side now cut out.
Shop is in wooden boat chill mode

After reattaching the chine to the frames yesterday, today was get going on the planking.
Once the bottom wider plank was fitted and installed, the other planks fell right in place, until i ran out of clamping room.
Then it gets physical.
Really enjoying this project.

The big project work has begun.
This sweet Harkers Island skiff had a bit of hull rot, both sides.
So the portside gets done first, then start on the starboard side.
Work projection at this time for another major job now puts me out for maybe 6 months.
Yay!
