A scene from the real behind the scenes. It's 7:50am. I've sent 2 of my kids to school, the washing machine and dishwasher are going. I'm cutting cord for air plant hangers. I'm thinking about what I'm going to make for my oldest and I to eat before he's off to school. I'm also mentally getting ready to drive 45 minutes on the second rainy day of the season for us Oregonians (which means everyone is trying to remember how to drive in the rain 😵‍💫) to a work event at the PDX Airport. When running your own business alongside a family, we get in bits of work whenever we can. A little here, a little there and somehow it all adds up to this big beautiful life.

This Thursday!! If you are traveling through the Portland International Airport between 10am-12pm on 9/3, pop on over to ECOVIBE, pre security by Alaska check in where I'll be setup and demoing how I make our macrame air plant hangers!! Travelers will then be able to pop into ECOVIBE to grab one and bring a bit of Oregon wherever they are going! 🌿

Favorite moments from this past weekend's Summer Market:

1. Throwing my hands up in the air and full on dancing as a welcome for my friend Natalie who was driving up to her vendor spot only to realize it wasn't Natalie. 😂🫣 After this stranger-to-me vendor parked, I laughed and introduced myself to her and she said my welcome dance made her feel so welcome and happy to be here. So, not all was lost. Fellow vendors, lemme know if you want a welcome dance next time I see you.

2. I made this new to me plant hanger style a couple weeks ago after a friend suggested it and it was the first piece I sold Saturday. It's so validating to have a new piece sell quickly.

3. My time with and These ladies are pure gems and I LOVE them. 😉

4. Fist bumping with Gayle and being invited to drink w**e at her beach house. I live for random conversations with strangers that make an impact.

5. Listening to all weekend on the speaker. IYKYK

It's a special one. Tomorrow I am back at one of my favorite events. A BRANCH & CORD will be popping up with many amazing other vendors at Little Rebels with a Cause in West Linn between 11am-4pm on Sunday, July 12th.

This event is extra special because of my love for Rebel Clothing Collective and their mission. They are clothing and gift boutique that focuses on kindness, inclusion and embracing differences.

My youngest has a communication disorder called Apraxia of Speech. Apraxia of speech is a neurological motor speech disorder where the brain struggles to plan and sequence the muscle movements needed to speak. Individuals know what they want to say but cannot consistently make their mouth produce the correct sounds. It's businesses like Rebel Clothing Collective that help normalize differences we all have and give me ways to help advocate for my kiddo.

So, I'm extra excited about tomorrow's event because it means I get to pick up at least 1 new RCC shirt, spend time with some of my favorite vendors and sell my handmade products.
