The Letizio Family was honored to donate a handcrafted wooden American flag to the Salem, NH Police Department, where it will be proudly displayed in the entryway of their beautiful new building.
What makes this flag especially meaningful is the history behind it. The flag was crafted from timber that was sunk in Canobie Lake following the historic storm of 1938 and, decades later, recovered from the lake.
Today, that piece of local history has been given new life as a symbol of American pride and community.
During the October 14th ribbon cutting celebration, Al Letizio, Jr. presented the flag to Salem Police Chief Joel Dolan and the Salem Police Department, with New Hampshire Governor Kelly Ayotte among, the many community leaders and members, on hand to celebrate this important milestone for the Salem community.
There is something especially fitting about a piece of history that has endured for nearly 90 years now becoming part of a building that represents Salem's future. A piece of the past, preserved for the future. ๐บ๐ธ
