Southwest Airlines' new policy will remove the time limit on travel credits. Previously, they had to be used within a year of purchase.

❤️Southwest💙 released flights this am through March 2023. For those making plans for Feb school break be prepared for high prices. Their lowest fare tickets sold out in minutes. However…if you can be flexible by flying mid week it can be much cheaper & in my case I chose the next closest airport to our destination & saved a TON with better flight times too.😎 🏖 ✈️

Airlines are taking a HUGE hit over delays; often beyond their control (weather & staffing issues). I want to share a positive experience. 3 weeks ago I was impacted by major delays & ultimately my flight got cancelled. And yeah it sucked but I took a different approach.
✈️ Being a savvy flier I took it upon myself to rebook my flight on the first one out the next day vs waiting in line at 2am with 200 others. COST = $1000 (reimbursed by Southwest within 4 days)
✈️ Decided to sleep 5 hours in a hotel vs the airport floor. COST = $200 (today received a $200 credit for future flight)

Moral of the story….customer service does still exist & I remain a loyal Southwest customer. Give the airlines a little bit of slack; they’re doing their best. Bashing them & their employees who are likely exhausted, stressed, beat up from rude customers, etc won’t change the current challenges. We all have choices & traveling right now comes with a risk so be flexible, fly a day early if you have an event to get to, have a back plan or don’t travel & be kind😌

✈️I haven’t posted in awhile however I’m still traveling & flying for free (haven’t paid for a plane ticket in 3+ years & that includes 5 trips to FL & 1 to Costa Rica in 2021).✈️

❤️Southwest💙 is running a promo until 3/14 that not only rewards you with enough points for a free ticket BUT you get a companion pass which allows someone to fly free with you every time you fly through Feb 2023….that’s crazy. Took me a few years to get a companion pass.

I’ve been real quiet on the travel side of things since COVID disrupted the world & put a hault to travel. I want to share my recent travel experience with you in case you’re considering a trip. We (my husband & 2 of my boys) booked a trip last fall to visit my dear friend & her family this summer. When COVID hit I wondered if this would even be possible. As cases continued to drop (at least locally) & our comfort level to travel was manageable we decided to live our life & honestly just get the heck out of town even if it was just for a few days. From the minute we arrived at our local airport (PWM) until we left St Louis in a rental car we were AMAZED (and that’s no understatement) at how safe we felt flying/traveling. Not once did we witness anyone (which had to be hundreds if not thousands when you factor in 3 airports; PWM, BWI, STL) not complying with wearing a face covering. We felt safer flying then we do today in our local grocery, hardware or convienient stores. Flying Southwest also afforded us the luxury of not having any middle seats booked which freed up 1/3 of the planes capacity & they boarded just 10 at a time. In an effort to be compliant with our state guidelines we all got tested upon return (negative results of course). So the moral of the story is I’d hop on a plane again tomorrow with no doubt & we plan to keep our travel plans during Christmas vacation as long as there’s no travel ban. ✈️😷👍

Any locals looking to travel; the beautiful country of Costa Rica just announced 6 US states are allowed to visit.

ravelers from New York, New Jersey, New Hampshire, Vermont, Maine, or Connecticut will be able to fly to Costa Rica starting next month.

Southwest announced on Wednesday that any soon-to-expire Rapid Rewards drink coupons are valid through December 31, 2020. I knew I saved these for a reason. 🍻
