Terminal Operator

POSITION SUMMARY

Reporting to the Terminal Manager, the Terminal Operator is responsible for safely operating all Terminal equipment in connection with receiving, storing, transferring, and loading of products via trucks or water vessels The Terminal Operator is also responsible for the testing of products and documentation of results; maintenance of Terminal equipment; preparation of various Terminal reports; and general maintenance and upkeep of the facility.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Ensure the safe operation of the terminal; maintain awareness for personal and co-workers safety, and ensure knowledge and compliance with all policies and procedures.
Perform all daily, monthly, quarterly, semi-annual, and annual maintenance and compliance inspections, and maintain required logs as appropriate.
Ensure that all Terminal equipment, including safety devices and systems are functioning properly, and report any and all equipment failures to supervisor.
Perform daily walk around inspections to identify any potential risks and ensure good housekeeping standards are maintained at all times.
Conduct preventive and routine maintenance on various operating equipment, including, but not limited to, pumps, valves, meters, compressors, motors, tanks, pipes, terminal building, and various other equipment.
Ensure that all contractors, customers and vendors follow Company/Terminal Policies and Procedures when accessing or working in the Terminal.
Communicate product outages and equipment downtime to appropriate individuals.
Participate in emergency situations as required.
Perform other duties as assigned.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

Strong team player with the ability to work independently.
Experience Operating Heavy Machinery, Loaders, Material Handler, Skid Steer, other equipment.
Basic computer and Microsoft Office experience
Ability to perform all required mathematical calculations with or without the use of a calculator.
Ability to work outside for long periods of time in any weather condition.
Ability to work overtime as necessary.
Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends and/or holidays.
Excellent customer service, interpersonal and communication skills.
Strong mechanical aptitude.
Experience/Education:

High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
Industry experience preferred.

Assist with loading and unloading of bulk fertilizer products for suppliers and customers.
Assist with maintenance and repairs of plant equipment as directed.

Minimum Qualifications (required)
High school diploma or GED
1 plus years of related experience
Ability to work at various heights above ground as required
Ability to follow directions

Additional Qualifications
Bulk fertilizer handling experience
Barge handling experience

Valid Class A CDL license

An established and growing terminal and trucking company Minnesota, is seeking Class A CDL Drivers in the Winona, MN area. The qualified candidate will be a motivated, results oriented self-starter with at least 1 year Class A license experience in the trucking industry.
Primary responsibilities include:
Provide efficient and dependable service to our customers.
Detailed oriented, self starter, and work independently.
Load, Deliver and unload customer product in a timely manner.
Must be able to meet deadlines as designated by management and customer
Must have at least 1 year verified Class A OTR Experience.
