Mentally, I’m still on vacation… and honestly, I’m not sure I’m ready to come back. I do miss the routine though. I think the kids do too. I have one more vacation planned in a month and then that’s it for the rest of 2026.

The last month has been an absolute WHIRLWIND of travel, learning, exploring, and making memories! Just going through pictures to put in my frame at home I realized all the things I was able to see and do and it was amazing!

Here’s a little look at where life has taken me lately!

Universal Orlando — Learning the ins and outs of the resorts, exploring the parks, and stepping outside my comfort zone to try some rides! (VelociCoaster, I’m looking at you!

Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party — A little Disney magic, Halloween fun, and plenty of memories!

Disney Dream — Family time, ocean views, Disney characters, and all the magic that comes with being at sea.

Hersheypark Dark Nights — Spooky fun and another adventure to add to the list!

A WEEK IN MYRTLE BEACH — Sunshine, beach time, family memories, and a little time to relax by the ocean!

And in between all of that? Plenty of traveling, learning, and gathering tips and tricks that I can’t wait to share with YOU!

One of my favorite parts of being a travel advisor is getting to experience these destinations firsthand so I can help YOU plan a trip that fits your family, your budget, and your travel style.

Over the next few weeks, I’ll be sharing recaps, resort tours, helpful tips, favorite experiences, and things I’d keep in mind when planning these trips for my own clients.

The Disney Believe cruise ship reveal is here!

The maiden voyage is December 18, 2027!

Booking starts Monday, October 12 for Castaway Club Members and general October 19!

The Disney Believe will be setting sail on 4 and 5 night Bahamian and Western Caribbean itineraries from Fort Lauderdale.

Here is what I learned:

Travel Tip Tuesday: Why I Cruise With My Eyes Open

One of my favorite parts of cruising isn’t just getting to relax, eat, explore, and enjoy the ship… it’s getting to experience things so I can help YOU plan better vacations!

I just got back from the Disney Dream, and you better believe I was paying attention to all the little things:

Because when you book with me, you’re not just getting someone who can make a reservation.

You’re getting someone who wants to know the vacation before you take it.

Things I noticed as a travel advisor

One of my favorite things about traveling isn’t just taking the vacation…it’s paying attention to the little things that could help my clients have a better one.

After spending the week on the Disney Dream, here are a few things I noticed that I’d definitely keep in mind when planning a Disney cruise for a family…

Stateroom location matters.
Where your room is located can make a difference with little ones—especially when you’re going back and forth to the kids’ clubs, pools, dining, and activities. We have been staying in the middle or towards the back for less motion. (That’s for Eric not the kids and I) 😂

Kids’ ages really matter when choosing a cruise.
Disney does an amazing job catering to different age groups, but what works for a family with toddlers may be very different from what a family with tweens or teens wants.

Dining is part of the experience—not just a meal.
Disney’s rotational dining is something I’d explain to families ahead of time so they know what to expect and can make the most of it. It is my favorite part of the Disney cruise! I love going to different dining each night and the servers follow you so you still get to know each other.

Don’t overlook the entertainment!
There is SO much more happening onboard than just swimming and eating. Shows, characters, activities, kids’ clubs, deck parties, and family activities can easily fill your days. Do not skip the shows! Get there 30 minutes at least ahead of time. They are amazing and fill up fast!

You don’t have to do everything.
This is a big one with kids! I’d rather help a family prioritize the things they REALLY want to experience than create a schedule that leaves everyone exhausted. I was a little sad that we missed some things but we had to prioritize things and that’s ok.

Build in downtime.
Especially with younger kids, I’d make sure there’s time to relax, nap, swim, or just enjoy the ship. The ship itself is part of the vacation! For the kids we would have a on the go morning and come back around 2 for them to nap so they weren’t so grumpy for the shows at night and Eric and I got some rest as well.

Know what needs planning ahead of time.
Some experiences and activities have limited availability, so I’d want my clients to know what they should be watching for before they board. Ariel and Bluey only had 2 times to meet so we had to prioritize that over something else. So glad we did! They loved it!

Every family’s “perfect Disney cruise” looks different.
That’s probably my biggest takeaway. The best itinerary isn’t necessarily the one with the most activities—it’s the one that fits your family.

This is exactly why I love experiencing these trips myself. I don’t just want to tell my clients that Disney Cruise Line is great—I want to be able to share what I noticed, what I’d do differently, and what I’d recommend based on their family.
