50 some years ago this man, my Uncle Lamar Peckham, "inspired" me to become a pilot. My first flight came in the back seat of what I remember being a Piper Cub. Of course I wanted to be an astronaut first, you know, go straight to the top. As I got older, flight was always in my sights. I started in 1984 with my first training flights right here at the Yucca Valley at the airport. I didn't finish until 1998 (kids), in Fullerton, CA. If you have never flown in an general aviation aircraft you are missing out on one of the most interesting sports there is. I encourage you to "bum" a ride by offering to pay for some gas for one of the pilots on the field. Saturday's at about 6:30 am is a great time to meet the crew.
