Three years ago, our lives changed in an instant.
Peyton began having seizures with no warning. Over time, we came to believe they were likely connected to a serious head injury he suffered during what started as a play fight.
Since then, he's had 7 seizures: 💜 4 tonic-clonic seizures 💜 3 absence seizures
This week, he completed a 72-hour in-home EEG. As you can see... he handled it with a sense of humor. 😅
The best news?
Peyton has now been seizure-free for ONE YEAR. 🎉
If he reaches the two-year mark without another seizure, he'll be eligible to begin the process of getting his driver's license shortly after he turns 16.
As his mom, that's a milestone I can hardly put into words.
Looking back, I also remember how difficult those early years were. Every neurologist appointment, EEG, hospital visit, and seizure brought another wave of anxiety about attendance policies and whether I could afford to miss work.
This week felt different.
I was able to work from home, answer emails, continue building my business, and most importantly... be right here with my son while he completed his testing.
Mom first. Business owner second.
That's one of the biggest reasons I chose this path.
Thank you to everyone who has prayed for Peyton, checked in on us, or simply encouraged our family over these last three years. Every message, every prayer, and every bit of kindness has carried us farther than you know.
