To our extended Reinsfelder family — our employees, partners, and valued customers:
As we gather for Thanksgiving, I find myself reflecting on what has kept Reinsfelder strong for more than a century. It isn’t just horsepower or iron. It’s the hard work, grit, and sacrifice every one of you brings to this company.
Let’s be honest — this is not glamorous work. Trucking is grueling. It’s a life of constant crisis interrupted by brief moments of intense success.
Yet this company was built by people willing to give up time with their families so that our customers’ freight could keep America running. For 105 years, knowledge has been handed down from one generation to the next, and this company has been carried through long days, long miles, and challenges that don’t make the headlines.
That spirit is why we create jobs, why we grow, and why we are successful. It’s the sacrifices each of you makes that keep this company moving forward.
I often think back to my childhood, seeing the weight of this work up close.
One Christmas morning, I came downstairs to find my father crying at the desk next to our tree. He had just learned that one of our drivers, Elmer, had passed away. That was the first time I ever saw my father cry.
As I grew older and stepped deeper into the business, I came to understand what he already knew: family isn’t just blood — family is sacrifice.
It’s standing with each other through the hard times and the long nights.
Every one of you is part of our family.
This year, that family grew even larger. We welcomed new employees across nearly every part of the company. Whether you’re behind the wheel, in the shop, in the brokerage, in the warehouse, in dispatch, or in the back office, I want to personally welcome you and thank you for joining our family. I wish you all the greatest success!
You’re now part of something with deep roots and a proud history.
Over the years I’ve watched your children grow, and now I’m seeing some of them start families of their own.
I’ve also said goodbye to mentors who shaped me — people who taught me how to work, how to lead, and how to treat others.
One of those men was Charlie Beilstein.
When I was 16 and working as a mechanic, Charlie looked after me. He kept me safe, taught me the business, and showed me what loyalty looks like.
When he passed and I saw a Reinsfelder hat placed next to him in his casket, it brought me to tears. A young man approached me to ask how I knew his grandfather —I had played hockey with him in High School and never knew was Charlie’s grandson! I told him how much I had cared for his grandfather, Charlie and how much he had taught me throughout my summers while working for my father at Reinsfelder. I am forever grateful to him.
That moment reminded me again of my father’s tears that Christmas morning — and of how deeply this company has touched the lives of those who built it.
Today, with hundreds of employees from coast to coast, this family is not small. And it takes sacrifice from everyone to keep things moving.
There is another kind of sacrifice important to acknowledge: the sacrifice of teaching, correcting, and speaking up when it’s uncomfortable. Around here, that isn’t tattling — that’s teamwork.
It’s looking out for one another because we are family.
None of us were born knowing how to handle a 13’6” high load, chain down a breaker, or back a trailer under a crane with inches to spare. Somebody took the time to teach us.
Somebody stopped us before we made a mistake.
That time was sacrifice too!
And when we pass that experience on to others, it pays us back many times over. It builds safer yards, better drivers, stronger teams, and a culture of pride in doing things the right way.
That’s the culture I want for this family — one built on respect, transparency, accountability, and growth.
We all make mistakes! That’s part of the job. But if we correct each other the right way — with purpose, respect, and the intent to make each other better — then every mistake becomes part of our strength, not our downfall.
The men who founded this company over 105 years ago left us a legacy built on sacrifice, responsibility, and pride.
I know I am not a perfect man. I haven’t always been the most present father, friend, or colleague. I work on that every day. But my commitment to this company has always come from a place of responsibility and love.
Today, I show up not just to run a business, but to carry forward a legacy — for all of you who work here now, for those who paved the way, and for the future men and women I may never meet.
I also want to thank our customers — the partners who trust us with their freight, their schedules, and their reputations.
Your confidence in our people allows us to grow, invest, and keep pushing this company forward.
From the newest customer to those who have stood with us for decades, we are truly grateful you’re part of the Reinsfelder story.
Before I close, I want to thank my father, Ed Haser Sr. He helped make all of this possible by believing in us. If he had not given me the chance to step into his shoes, none of this would have been possible. His trust in the next generation is one of the reasons this company still stands strong today.
As Thanksgiving approaches, whether you’re home around the table or out on the road doing the hard work that keeps America moving, I want you to know this:
as my family and I bow our heads to say the Lord’s Prayer for Thanksgiving dinner, each and every one of you is sitting at our table in spirit.
For those who are going through personal issues or the loss of a loved one this year, know that you are in our hearts during this time of Thanksgiving!
We are grateful for your sacrifice, your loyalty, your friendship, and the pride you place behind the Reinsfelder name for the last 105 years.
