Reflections on Death

When my mother died between the tears
I asked why for death was new to me
When my father died there was relief between the tears for death brought release from
the pain which racked his body

When a young friend died
I wondered at the redundant nature of senseless death

For death needs no reason and is almost never planned

They enriched my life
They live now through me

So maybe
no answer
an answer

And my best memorial is to live every day in appreciation of what they gave me
As if every day might be my last
So much is wasted in seeking answers where none exist I can only accept life for what it is
not fair not even not logical but precious every minute.
