🌾 CO-CREATED WITH COMMUNITIES. CRAFTED FOR YOU

6 years ago, FME Travel started with a simple belief: to truly feel the Mekong Delta, travelers need to experience it alongside the people who call this land home.

That’s why FME has never simply been about bringing guests to ready made attractions.

🛶 Over the past 6 years, FME has worked alongside communities from small islets and craft villages to riverside docks connecting with the people who preserve local heritage and turning everyday values into meaningful travel experiences.

🤝 What began with connection grew into deeper collaboration: working with communities to welcome guests, share their stories, refine experiences, and build confidence in taking part in tourism.

Many of the experiences FME offers today have grown from that process discovered, developed, and shaped together with local communities.

Looking back, FME realized that the old tagline, “Feel Mekong Delta from Fabulous Hearts,” no longer captured the full story.

✨ So FME Travel is moving forward with a new tagline:

CO-CREATED WITH COMMUNITIES. CRAFTED FOR YOU.

🌱 CO-CREATED WITH COMMUNITIES - because every FME experience starts with listening, connecting, and working with communities to uncover the values that can become meaningful experiences for travelers.

🎯 CRAFTED FOR YOU - because those local values become the foundation for FME to design each journey around your needs, goals, and expectations.

That’s how FME has grown over the past 6 years and that’s how FME will continue moving forward: discovering more local values, building stronger community connections, and turning them into experiences worth sharing. 💛

🌿 Con Son Islet - A Green Oasis in the Heart of Can Tho

Just about 9km from downtown Can Tho, across a short 5-10 minute ferry ride on the Hau River, Con Son feels like a different world - a place where life still moves with the river's currents, the fruit seasons, and the rhythms of families who've called this islet home for generations.

Here, the orchard ecosystem isn't something to admire from a distance, it's something to step into and experience firsthand:
🍈 Wander through seasonal fruit orchards, picking and tasting fruit right where it grows.
🐟 Visit the famous "flying" snakehead fish pond, one of Con Son's most iconic sights.
🍚 Learn to make traditional cakes with local residents, and see how a Mekong Delta treat comes together from ingredients grown right in the garden.
🎣 Stop by a floating fish farm on the river, wander around fish ponds dug by local hands, and relax in a hammock after a home cooked meal made with garden fresh ingredients.
🌅 End the journey with a stunning sunset over the Hau River.

The tour runs 4-5 hours, traveling by boat, motorbike, and on foot, departing at 2pm with pickup from your hotel in downtown Can Tho. Small groups of up to 6 guests, so everyone can experience it fully, without rushing.

If you're looking for a slow afternoon in Can Tho, one that means truly living alongside the orchard community, Con Son is where you should go. Inbox FME and we'll help plan the perfect itinerary for you.

🌿 FME SUPPORTS THE ST4SD PROJECT IN ORGANIZING A STUDY TRIP FOR SA DEC TOURISM IN DA LAT

🗓️ From 31 July to 3 August 2026, FME Travel joined the Swiss Tourism for Sustainable Development (ST4SD) Project in running the learning program "Destination Management and Tourism Product Development for Sa Dec, held in Da Lat" for tourism authorities and household businesses of the Sa Dec Flower Village, D**g Thap.

FME supported the organization from the ground up: designing the program framework, shaping the learning content, and connecting with the destinations. Over four days, the delegation had the opportunity to learn from five leading models in Da Lat:

- Dalat Hasfarm: developing tourism products from agricultural resources.
- Dalafarm: designing Farm-to-Table experiences.
- Là Việt Coffee: building partner networks and value chains.
- XQ Da Lat Sử Quán: the art of destination storytelling.
- Langbiang Land: destination management and visitor-flow operations.

This was not an ordinary sightseeing tour, but a substantive learning journey. At each stop, the delegation sat down with local managers to explore and unpack how these destinations actually operate, from supply chains and operational management to product development and experience design at each site, identifying bottlenecks and finding ways to apply the lessons back in Sa Dec.

At FME, we believe a well-designed learning program is measured not by the number of places visited, but by what participants bring home and put into practice. That is how FME accompanies the sustainable growth of each destination and community.

📩 Contact FME for advice and to design a study trip that fits your specific goals and destination.

🪷 SA ĐÉC REGION MAP | THE OLD HOUSE AND A LOVE STORY THAT FOUND ITS WAY INTO WORLD LITERATURE

Some love stories are known only to the two people who lived them. But there is one love story that began in Sa Đec, found its way into the pages of a novel, and reached readers around the world.

At the beginning of the 20th century, on a ferry crossing the Mekong River, a young French girl happened to meet Huynh Thuy Le, the son of one of Sa Đec's wealthiest merchant families. That encounter became the inspiration for The Lover (L'Amant), the celebrated novel by French writer Marguerite Duras - a work that later won France's prestigious Prix Goncourt and was adapted into a film.

And the house where this story found its place still stands today:
✨ Huynh Thuy Le Ancient House, built in 1895, situated along the Sa Đec River.
✨ A unique blend of Eastern and Western architecture - featuring the traditional three-room Vietnamese house structure, Chinese decorative motifs, and French architectural details.
✨ A space that has preserved, almost intact, the atmosphere of life from more than a century ago.

🪷 SA ĐÉC REGION MAP | WHEN TOURISM BECOMES A STORY OF SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT

Some journeys are simply about seeing the sights, taking a few photos, and heading home. But there are also ways of traveling that leave the places you visit better than they were before you arrived. For FME Travel, that is what tourism should strive for and it is the spirit we bring to Sa Đéc.

Over the past few weeks, we have shared with you why Sa Đéc, and who is behind this journey. Today, let's talk about what matters most: What does sustainable development really mean for a place like Sa Đéc?

To us, "sustainability" is not just a beautiful slogan. It is something tangible:

✨ It means ensuring that the flower growers in their fields, the artisans working by the brick kilns, and the boat operators on the Tiền River can fairly benefit from the value of their own stories, rather than being left on the sidelines of the tourism industry.

✨ It means choosing to travel slowly and leave a lighter footprint: cycling through the flower villages, traveling by local boat both to help protect the environment and to connect more deeply with the rhythm of life here.

✨ It means preserving old houses and century-old craft villages, so that heritage is not only celebrated but can also become a source of livelihood for local communities.

✨ It means giving local people the tools and the voice to tell their own stories authentically, proudly, and for generations to come.

This is also at the heart of what the ST4SD project seeks to achieve: a community-based tourism model that puts people at the center, where the value created stays within and continues to nurture the very land and communities that gave rise to it.

Because every journey eventually comes to an end. But when tourism is done thoughtfully, the value it leaves behind for communities and for the places they call home - can last for a very long time.

That is why FME believes that, when told in the right way, tourism can become a story of sustainable development. 🌾
