If you are planning to move abroad and figure out the money part when you get here you will be home in 90 days.

Vietnam does not have jobs for foreigners. Neither does Thailand. Neither does Bali.

You are going to employ yourself or you are going to go home.
I moved to Da Nang at 51. I had already built my income online before I landed. That is the only reason I am still here 16 months later.

The move is easy. A flight. A visa. A suitcase. The income is what actually determines whether you stay. $2,000 a month online covers my entire life here. Build that number before you leave. Not after.

It is rent day in Da Nang. Here is how I get cash with zero ATM fees in 2026.

VP Bank. That is it.
I used to use TP Bank but they charge fees now. VP Bank is the move.
They say you can withdraw 20 million VND at once but I have only ever seen it go to 5 million. So I just do a couple withdrawals.

Zero fees every time.
Small thing. Adds up fast when you are living here long term.

I did the same thing.
You start strong. Hit a wall. Nobody is there to help. You stop.

Here is exactly what I spend every month in Da Nang Vietnam.

Rent: $650. Rooftop pool. Two blocks from the beach. Cleaning service included. Electricity: $50. Water: $4. Internet: $4. Food: $450ish. I eat well. I order every meal. I do not cook. Transport: $60. Grooming and massages: $20.

Total fixed with food: Around $1,400 a month.

In San Diego rent alone was $3,200. All in I was at $9,000 a month and never getting ahead.

Same laptop. Same work. Different math.

Just got back from my visa run to Laos.
16 hours on a bus. Every 90 days this is just part of living here.

Spent the whole ride going deep on faceless AI influencer accounts. Real audiences. Real commissions. No real person behind them. Ever.

I moved here at 51. $1,400 a month. Same laptop. Different life.
This is the most interesting thing I have come across since I got here.
I am taking 10 people through building one from scratch. Not a course. Me live twice a week for 8 weeks.
