If you think Vietnam is only about tropical beaches and sticky humidity, Ha Giang is here to completely change your mind. Compared to other famous destinations in Vietnam, the weather on the Rocky Plateau is a whole different beast:

⛰️ Sapa vs. Ha Giang (The Mist vs. The Drama): While Sapa is famous for its romantic, year-round cool mist and resort vibe, Ha Giang is much more dramatic. It’s a land of extremes. You can experience intense mountain sun shining through deep canyons in the afternoon, and then shiver in the crisp, cold wind on a high mountain pass just an hour later.

⛰️ Hanoi/Halong vs. Ha Giang (The Humidity escape): When Hanoi and Halong Bay get suffocatingly humid and hot in the summer, Ha Giang’s high altitude (especially in D**g Van and Meo Vac) acts as a natural air conditioner. The daytime might be sunny, but the nights are always refreshingly cool.
