Today, two remarkable women met for the very first time.

One has spent almost her entire life in this quiet corner of the Mekong Delta. The other has spent a lifetime exploring the world and today became the oldest guest ever to join a Les Rives journey.

They don’t speak the same language, yet within minutes they were smiling, sharing fresh coconuts and laughing together as though they’d known each other for years.

Watching them together reminded us that sometimes the most meaningful moments aren't found at famous landmarks or scenic viewpoints. They happen around a simple table, in a family home, between two people whose lives have taken completely different paths.

Thank you to both these wonderful ladies for allowing us to share this photograph. It made our day, and we hope it brings a smile to yours too 💕

Fifty years ago, Saigon officially became Ho Chi Minh City.

In half a century, the city has changed almost beyond recognition. It has grown upward, outward, and faster than before. New bridges now connect places that once felt far apart. A skyline defines what used to be a city measured more by water than by concrete. Yet the Saigon River has stayed exactly where it has always been.

It does not mark milestones, but it has witnessed them. Long before the city became a modern metropolis, the river carried trade, people, and movement through this part of Vietnam. As the city evolved around it, the river remained a constant line through every layer of change.

A Cu Chi Tour… and an Unexpected Passenger 🐶

This morning’s journey to Cu Chi came with a little surprise.

As our Les Rives speedboat was gliding along the Saigon River, our crew suddenly spotted something unusual in the water, a small dog paddling with all its might. Not exactly the type of “swimmer” we usually expect to see on our route.

Without a second thought, our team carefully approached and lifted the exhausted little adventurer safely on board. Thankfully, we were able to locate the owner shortly after. The reunion on the riverbank was filled with relief, gratitude… and probably a promise from the dog not to try river swimming again anytime soon.

We are incredibly proud of our crew for their swift action, teamwork, and compassion. On the Saigon River, every journey is different, but today’s trip reminded us that sometimes, the most meaningful moments are the ones you never plan for.

Just another day at Les Rives… where even the river keeps things interesting. ✨
