On August 17, 6 cargo vessels passed through the Strait of Hormuz, up from 3 vessels on Saturday and 2 on Sunday, but still significantly below the 10-day average of 11 vessels per day.
Notably, no VLCC or LNG vessels were recorded passing through the strait on August 17. Some vessels continued to use the Iranian side of the shipping route, including the VLGC Xavia, which was sailing in ballast.
⚠️ Maritime activity through Hormuz continues to be affected by security risks and a lack of progress in U.S.–Iran negotiations, prompting shipowners and operators to remain cautious.
📌 Logistics impact: If vessel traffic remains low, the region could continue to face delivery delays, vessel shortages, higher transportation costs, and disruptions to energy supply chains across the Middle East.
🚢 Legend Shipping continues to closely monitor developments in the Strait of Hormuz, proactively updating shipping conditions and providing suitable logistics solutions to help customers minimize risks and maintain their transportation plans.
🚢 Legend Shipping
