TUI fly Belgium receives yet another brand-new fuel efficient passenger jet.

TUI Group is actively modernizing its fleet as part of its commitment to reducing carbon emissions. Today, the Belgian branch of its airline operations welcomed the sixth brand-new Boeing 737-8. Following a non-stop delivery flight from Everett, near Seattle, the aircraft, registered as OO-TMT and named "Cidade de Tui," has arrived at its home base, Brussels Airport.

The plane has a 40% smaller noise footprint and emits 15% less CO2 compared to the previous generation of the 737. TUI is replacing the entire narrow-body fleet with the latest version of the 737.

Join us in cheering for our member ASL Airlines Belgium who is supporting the Think Pink Belgique campaign!

ASL Airlines Belgium is taking part in the official launch of the worldwide breast cancer awareness campaign. In a joint effort, our people are mobilizing to raise awareness of breast cancer prevention and care. This campaign is part of our commitment to the community and corporate concern for collective well-being.

Activities organized throughout the month of October at ASL Airlines Belgium include the sale of pastries made by our employees, the sale of pink ribbons and other goodies, collective participation in a connected walking/running championship in aid of Think Pink, and the organization of a Music Quiz & Games evening.

👚 Employees will be flying the Think Pink flag, and pilots will be proudly pinning their pink shoulder pads to their uniforms throughout the month of October.

Let's make October a month of awareness, hope, and positive action.

Together, we walk, we wear pink, we bake and we share the hope of a future without breast cancer. ♀

Brussels Airport is crucial for Belgium, for its citizens and for its economy. Did you know that the entire Brussels Airport ecosystem is one of the largest employers in the country?

While the majority of the employees live in Flanders (where the airport is located), Brussels Airport sees a notable increase in employees from the Brussels Capital Region (20% compared to 16% in 2017), in addition 11% of staff come from the Walloon Region.

BATA-member ASL Airlines Belgium achieved an impressive milestone. The Liege Airport-based company is the very first Belgian airline to directly connect the United States of America and the People's Republic of China.

From Liege, Belgium, the so-called "around the world" route serves Jinan Yaoqiang International Airport, Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport and New York John F. Kennedy International Airport.

BATA-member DHL Express België / Belgique has been operating its AeroLogic Boeing 777F for over ten years at Brussels Airport. The airport community was stunned to hear that the current minister for mobility wants to ban 777 night operations at Belgium's national airport. As part of the Stargate project, BATA member DHL leads the way in the field of electric ground-handling equipment. Following a successful test phase, one in three tractors and loaders of DHL, that sorts and transports time-critical shipments from Brussels Airport, will be fully electric this summer. The cargo transporter’s crew buses and tarmac cars are already one hundred percent electric. This investment is a first step for DHL towards reducing its CO2 footprint on the ground by more than half.

The electrification is supported by the Stargate (EU Green Deal) project.

We wish our member TUI fly Belgium a very happy 20th birthday!

Exactly two decades ago, the very first flight of "TUI Airlines Belgium" (one year later called "Jetairfly") took to the skies. Today, branded as "TUI fly", the airline operates 25 aircraft out of Brussels, Antwerp, Liege and Ostend. Besides the Belgian bases, TUI fly also flies out of bases in the Netherlands and Morocco to destinations in Europe, Asia, Africa and the Caribbean Sea.

TUI fly is known as an early adopter for introducing state-of-the-art aircraft such as the Boeing 737 MAX, the Embraer E2 series and the Boeing 787 "Dreamliner".
