Baré is a loggerhead turtle carrying Travelling Tortoise's sponsored tag ZA0796H. This season, Baré made two trips to shore and nested on both visits. That's a fantastic result and a real sign of a healthy, active turtle. Her movements this season were relatively concentrated, covering roughly 1.5 km of coastline. Baré is also a familiar face to the Ezemvelo team. She has been recorded on this stretch of coastline since 2021, making her one of the known returners that the monitors look forward to seeing each season. Baré measures 904 mm in length and 853 mm across, a well-grown loggerhead. She is most likely deep at sea right now, resting after what was clearly a busy nesting season.

I visited the west coast town of Kleinsee with my humans and am thinking of buying myself some "wheels".

17/10/2025

I was created by a caring lady, knitted from leftover strands of wool. My humans take me on their travels, exploring amazing places.

As you know, tortoises do things slowly so I’ve taught them ‘slow travel’. I love to smell the flowers and soak in the places we visit. On the road I've met some wild cousins.

Get on board and let's explore the world !!!
