It is sometimes very difficult to provide cancer care to patients from the most impoverished societies in South Africa. That’s exactly what our director, Dr Hamida Van Staaden did. She completed her Paediatric Oncology training in East London and is passionate about caring for the most vulnerable in our society.

She believes children need to be diagnosed earlier in their treatment journeys to ensure that they have the best chance of survival. In order to do that we must make sure we identify when children might have cancer.
