NEW AVIATION LEGISLATION: DOES YOUR AIRCRAFT NEED ANYTHING DIFFERENT?
South Africa's Civil Aviation Amendment Act came into operation on 12 October 2026, introducing several regulatory changes.
What's changed?
✈️Aviation safety: Updated regulatory oversight and enforcement provisions.
✈️Accident investigations: Changes to investigation procedures and responsibilities.
✈️Technical standards: Updates relating to pilot requirements, dangerous goods and aviation administration.
Does this mean additional maintenance or inspections?
Not necessarily. The changes don't automatically introduce new maintenance intervals, but keeping your aircraft airworthy, compliant and properly documented remains essential.
At Ferreira Aviation , we help aircraft owners understand their maintenance requirements, carry out necessary inspections and maintain accurate maintenance records.
You focus on flying. We'll take care of the maintenance.
