🚨 IMPORTANT OPERATIONS UPDATE 🚨

Interstate Bus Lines would like to inform all passengers and stakeholders that normal operations have officially resumed as of 16:15 this afternoon.

All buses operating between Botshabelo, Thaba Nchu and Mangaung will now follow the normal IBL schedule.

Please note that this update replaces the earlier communication indicating that Central Park would close at 20h00. Central Park will remain operational until all scheduled buses have departed from the depot.

Kindly note that the Central Park Ticket Office will remain open until 22h00 tonight to assist passengers.

Operations in Botshabelo, which were previously suspended, have also resumed with immediate effect.

We would like to thank all stakeholders involved for their cooperation and efforts in restoring stability, allowing us to continue providing much-needed transport services to our passengers.

🚨 URGENT PASSENGER UPDATE: THABA NCHU 🚨

Please note that today, IBL operations at Central Park will again stop at 20h00.

The last buses departing from Central Park to Thaba Nchu will leave at exactly 20h00. Thereafter, Central Park will be closed for the night.

Passengers are kindly advised to continue making arrangements to travel earlier in order to arrive home safely. These arrangements have been made to ensure the safety of our passengers until normal operations resume.

Please note that Interstate Bus Lines (IBL) will unfortunately not operate in Botshabelo tomorrow, Tuesday, 26 May 2026.

We fully understand the inconvenience and frustration this causes to passengers who rely on our services daily to get to work, school, and other important commitments. This was not an easy decision to make.

However, following the escalation of the planned shutdown and a thorough operational risk assessment, suspending operations is necessary to ensure the safety of both passengers and drivers.

We are especially mindful of learners preparing for their mid-year examinations and workers who depend on public transport to earn a living. It is our sincere hope that the situation will be resolved soon and that calmness and stability will return, allowing us to safely resume transporting passengers.

The situation continues to be closely monitored, and passengers will be informed of any further developments or operational changes. Other operational areas also remain under strict monitoring, and communication will be provided accordingly should there be any changes.

The last buses departing from Central Park to Botshabelo, Thaba Nchu and Bloemfontein (Mangaung) will leave at 20:00 sharp. Thereafter, Central Park will be closed for the night.

Passengers are kindly advised to make arrangements to travel earlier in order to arrive home safely.

Botshabelo to Central Park operations are currently suspended. Normal operations are expected to resume tomorrow unless communicated otherwise before tomorrow morning.

We apologise for the inconvenience and thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

Following the collapse of Woodbridge due to recent heavy rains, the community was left stranded, with learners especially struggling to get to school.

As Interstate Bus Lines (IBL), we stepped in to assist by transporting learners to and from school free of charge while our IBL road repair team, together with officials from the Department of Community Safety, Roads and Transport, worked tirelessly to restore the bridge.
We are proud to announce that the bridge is now back in good condition and once again serving the community safely.
At IBL, community support forms part of our Corporate Social Investment (CSI). We remain committed to assisting our communities whenever there is a need and where our resources can make a meaningful difference.

⚠️ N8 ROAD CLOSURE UPDATE ⚠️

Please note that all buses operating to and from the N8 have been temporarily suspended. Buses will not depart from Thaba Nchu, Botshabelo, or Bloemfontein at this stage in order to avoid congestion on the N8 following the road closure due to an alleged cash-in-transit heist.

Updates will be communicated as soon as more information becomes available.
