We are the only charter to have caught three officially weighed 100kg yellowfin tuna in one season, i

ncluding the second and third biggest yellowfin tuna taken on rod and reel in South Africa. We are also the only charter to have won the November Tuna Derby fished out of Hout Bay in 2012, South Africa's biggest tuna fishing competition as well as being runners up in 2011 competition just 2 kgs behind the leader and knocked out of first place on the last day. Currently Captain Dave holds the record for the biggest yellowfin tuna taken on fly rod on 10 kg tippet weighing in at 51.58 kgs and his personal best on heavier tippet 76kgs. He also has caught the second biggest yellowfin tuna taken in South Africa weighing in at 110 kgs! Based in Hout Bay we are centrally located to the best fishing hotspots around Cape Town. Throughout the year we can get you into the best fishing the Cape has to offer both inshore and offshore. Offshore we predominantly target yellowfin and longfin tuna and inshore we target yellowtail and snoek. It is possible to catch both species of tuna under the correct conditions inshore, having landed yellowfin tuna in excess of 60 kgs on a number of occasions at Cape Point. In my opinion the yellowfin tuna we target off Cape Town are one of the strongest fighting fish in the sea. There are few places in the world that can compare with the quality of our fishery with multiple 50 to 80kg yellowfin tuna being the norm on a typical charter and with fish reaching over 110kgs - Captain Dave

We had lovely weather on our charter yesterday, and it turned out to be a very successful day for our charter client Thomas.

Thomas caught the biggest fish out of the fleet, bringing in a 89kg Yellowfin.
