🌊 The Atlantic is so much more than the water we cruise across.

It is a living, breathing ecosystem — home to whales, dolphins, seals, seabirds and countless marine species that share these waters with us.

At , we feel privileged to spend our days on this incredible coastline. Every now and then, nature reminds us just how extraordinary it is to experience these creatures in their natural environment.

We don’t promise wildlife encounters, and we certainly can’t predict what the ocean might reveal on any given day. But that’s part of its magic.

Sometimes, all it takes is a fin breaking the surface, a pod of dolphins passing by, or a seabird skimming the water to remind us that we are visitors in a much bigger world.

We’re proud to share these waters with the incredible creatures that call them home — and committed to respecting, protecting and preserving the ocean we’re privileged to explore. 🌊

✨ Something Beautiful Is Taking Shape…

🚤 Boat building is one of humanities oldest crafts; from hollowing out logs for canoes and roping together reeds for rafts, through expert carpentry (HMS Victory, Admiral Nelson’s flagship, was constructed out of 6000 mature trees – 5400 of them oaks), then welding and riveting huge steel plates to create behemoths like the QE2 and battlecruiser Bismarck.

Smaller vessels were - and are - constructed out of everything from ferro concrete (!) to polyurethane and fibreglass.

This history is much on our mind as we watch mysterious processes taking place during the construction of our new catamaran.

The modern technology in play looks more like a scene from a science fiction movie than classic boat building, but we watch in wonder as the hulls and decks start to emerge.

We can’t wait to launch the finished product, but like all masterpieces, it takes time. We’ll keep everyone updated with pictures and short videos: the excitement is contagious!

And remember: this twin-hulled beauty still doesn’t have name. The contest to name her will run until late November (check out our pinned post) giving everyone time to apply their minds and imagination to come up with an appropriate monicker to paint proudly on her hull. The prize(s – two) are substantial as well, with two private charters on offer.

🌸⛵ September and the arrival of spring have also brought back an early summer rendition of the Cape southeaster gales — not a particularly welcome weather phenomenon at the best of times.

Gale-force winds are not pleasant accompaniments to ocean cruises, unfortunately, and at Waterfront Charters we will always place safety and guest comfort above all other considerations.

If we cancel any cruise, guests can naturally rebook for another time — hopefully wind-free — without any penalty whatsoever. Safety first, always.

🌙✨ The heavens are aligned, putting us here on earth in a prime position to witness not one, but two eclipses in quick succession: both a solar and lunar eclipse. We missed the solar event down south, but for those up early, the lunar eclipse made for good viewing and great photo-ops today.

Talking about things celestial is a reminder that we have our own Eclipse here at , named in accordance for our penchant for otherworldly nomenclature for our vessels.

Our Eclipse is a beautiful luxury motor catamaran – 13 metres in hull length – and she defines that word ‘luxurious’. Spacious decks and a refreshment area make for a perfect party platform out on the Atlantic, and she is available for private charters for any duration from two hours to…well, how long can you party?

We’re thrilled to announce that a brand-new powered catamaran is joining our fleet.
