Some days at Cape Point you can't see the point π
The mist rolls in low from False Bay, sits under the cliffs, and if you're standing at the top, you're above it β the mountains of Cape Hangklip visible across the sea of cloud, the horizon a straight white line.
Neil Ferguson took this group out on a Peninsula day last week. Boulders in the morning while the light was still coming through. Chapman's Peak drive after. Hout Bay harbour with the sun behind the mist. Then Cape Point in the afternoon, and the cloud sitting below them like something arranged.
You can plan a route. You can't plan for this.
That's the reason to go with a guide who's been driving this peninsula for years. Neil reads it as it comes.
