There’s nothing quite like exploring Cape Town, where every stop tells a story!

One of our Hylton Ross vehicles recently paused outside the magnificent Cape Town City Hall — an iconic landmark that has stood proudly on the Grand Parade since 1905.

The building is known for its grand Victorian-Edwardian architecture, with beautiful French-inspired influences.

🏛️ A few fascinating facts:

🔔 Its famous clock tower houses 39 bells!

🎶 Inside the Grand Hall is an impressive 3,165-pipe organ.

🇿🇦 Perhaps most famously, Nelson Mandela addressed thousands of South Africans from the City Hall balcony on 11 February 1990, shortly after his release from prison.

There’s nothing quite like seeing one of the Hylton Ross coaches on tour, surrounded by the breathtaking beauty of Chapman’s Peak!

Known affectionately as “Chappies”, Chapman’s Peak Drive winds its way for approximately 9 km between Hout Bay and Noordhoek, with an incredible 114 curves along the dramatic Atlantic coastline. Fun fact: the peak was named after John Chapman, the captain’s mate of an English ship who came ashore in Hout Bay in 1607. The iconic road itself took seven years to build and officially opened in 1922!

Today, it remains one of South Africa’s most spectacular scenic drives — and we’re proud to take our guests along the journey in comfort and style.

Because sometimes, the journey really is just as beautiful as the destination.

A BEAUTIFUL DAY AT CAPE POINT!

Our Hylton Ross guests are enjoying a picture-perfect day at Cape Point, with sunshine, spectacular views and plenty of fresh ocean air!

But did you know… 🤔

Cape Point is home to two lighthouses — and the newer one was built lower down the cliffs because the original was often hidden by cloud!

The newer lighthouse is one of the most powerful on the South African coast, with its beam visible from around 59 km away!

The famous Flying Dutchman funicular is the only commercial funicular of its kind in Africa — although it’s currently taking a little maintenance break and will be back in September.

Cape Point is also home to plenty of wildlife, including baboons, ostriches, antelope, dassies and an incredible variety of birds.

And today's extra-special bonus? TWO WHALES spotted cruising through the bay! What a sighting!

Someone's clearly excited for the season ahead!

It seems our CEO just couldn't wait for the next adventure, so he grabbed the hose and got straight to work, giving one of our coaches a well-deserved rinse!
