WCG Camping Friends – Who We Are & What We Do

We’re a group of gay guys who love camping, the outdoors and good company. 🏕️🌈

WCG Camping Friends started with a simple idea: get out of the city, find great places to camp, and enjoy them with like-minded guys.

But it’s about more than just camping.
It’s about meeting new people, making friends, sitting around a fire, sharing a braai, exploring the outdoors, having a laugh and enjoying a weekend where you can simply be yourself.

So, what do we actually do?
We organise regular camping weekends throughout the Western Cape, from spring through to late summer. Each month we choose a different destination and arrange the camping for the group.

We look for interesting places, beautiful settings and different camping experiences. Some have electricity, some are off-grid. Some are perfect for swimming, others for hiking or mountain biking or simply putting your feet up around the fire.

And importantly, when we camp, we book the entire campsite exclusively for our group.
That means no random strangers camping next to us. It’s our space for the weekend. A chance to relax, socialise and get to know the other guys without feeling like you’re walking into someone else’s space.

The 2026/2027 season is about to begin! 🔥

We’ve got six camping weekends planned, starting in September and running through to February — with a different destination and a different experience each month.

Whether you’re a regular camper or you’ve never slept in a tent in your life, you’re welcome.

Good guys. Great places. Cold drinks. Warm fires. Plenty of laughs. And hopefully a few new friendships along the way.

The 2026/2027 WCG Camping season has officially begun! 🎉

The tents are coming out of storage, the campfires are waiting to be lit, and another season of unforgettable weekends is about to begin.

One of the best parts of WCG Camping has always been the people—catching up with familiar faces, welcoming new members, sharing stories around the fire, exploring new places, and creating memories that last long after the weekend ends.

Our first camp of the season, Aurora Awakens, takes us to the beautiful West Coast region at the foot of the Piketberg Mountains from 11–13 September 2026. It's a brand-new venue for WCG Camping, and we can't wait to experience it together.

Whether you're joining us for this camp or another later in the season, here's to another year of friendship, adventure, laughter, and the great outdoors. 🔥

The season is officially underway, and we can't wait to share it with all of you.

The Wait Is Almost Over... Our 2026/2027 Camping Season is Here!

After a well-deserved winter break, we're excited to welcome everyone back for another season of campfires, laughter, breathtaking scenery, and unforgettable weekends with friends.

While we're busy preparing for the new season, it's the perfect time to get your diaries out and save the dates!

This season is all about reconnecting with old friends, welcoming new faces, and making even more amazing memories together.
