Attention all seafarers requiring a B1/B2 visa for the upcoming Caribbean season:

Please be advised that there is currently a 2 to 3 month delay in securing visa appointment slots in South Africa. Additionally, emergency appointment requests are not being approved in all cases, which may further impact your ability to obtain your visa in time.

Please also note that you are currently not permitted to apply for your B1/B2 visa outside of your country of residence. This means you will be required to return to your home country to apply, unless you hold valid residency in another country.

If you anticipate needing a B1/B2 visa for the Caribbean season, we strongly recommend that you book your appointment as soon as possible. We also advise planning and booking your leave within the next few months to ensure you are able to complete the process in time, avoid unnecessary delays, and reduce the stress associated with last-minute arrangements.

Important Notice Regarding Visa Use for Travel to France

Applicants who have obtained visas on the basis of exploring potential work opportunities in France are advised to take note of the following:

It appears that French consulates in South Africa may not have formally communicated or aligned with French immigration authorities regarding this specific basis for visa issuance. As such, there may be inconsistencies in how these visas are interpreted upon arrival in France.

Given that the visa annotation specifies tourism, it is essential that travellers adhere strictly to this designation when entering France. Upon arrival, you should clearly state that your purpose of travel is tourism and be prepared to provide supporting documentation, including confirmed accommodation details and a return flight itinerary.

While it is understood that the visa may have been granted with the intention of exploring work opportunities, to mitigate any potential risks or complications at the border, travellers are strongly advised not to declare that they are seeking employment upon arrival. Instead, you should align your stated purpose of travel with the official annotation on your visa

Job Title: Personal Assistant with Visa Application Expertise

Location: Work from home - Cape Town based but will involve international travel in future

Job Type: Full time

Salary between R15 000 - R20 000 based on experience

About the Role:
We are seeking a highly organized and proactive Personal Assistant to support our daily operations and assist with visa applications. The ideal candidate will have excellent administrative skills, attention to detail, and experience in handling visa-related processes.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage and organize the daily schedule, appointments, and meetings.

Handle correspondence, including emails and phone calls.

Assist with visa applications, including gathering required documents, filling out forms, and liaising with embassies or consulates.

Maintain confidential files and records.

Running of errands for personal and business

Coordinate travel arrangements, including flights, accommodations, and itineraries.

Liase with clients and ensure they are kept up to date at all times

Perform other administrative tasks as needed.

Requirements:

Proven experience as a personal assistant or in a similar role.

Familiarity with visa application processes and requirements.

Excellent organizational and time-management skills.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.

Proficiency in MS Office and other relevant software.

Flexibility and adaptability.
