Last week we were privileged to attend the launch of a remarkable fundraising initiative, a collaborative effort between Wheel to Heal SA & Masjid Love
This December Wheel to Heal will embark on a The Hijrah Cycle tour, which will cover approximately 500km. This tour will start with a departure from Cape Town on 9th December, to start the first cycle from Makkah to Madinah, and will honour the impact of the migration of our esteemed Prophet (PBUH) on our deen and lives today.
This tour brings together 40 cyclists, who will start the journey with an umrah, followed by their cycle from Makkah to Madinah.
The aim is to raise sufficient funds to be able to establish a sustainable waqf, by investing the funds in an income generating asset.
With the intention to fulfill the undertaking of Masjid Love, which is to generate adequate funds to enable masjids to cover their operating expenses, and continue to provide their critical services to the communities which they serve.
You can get involved in several ways: donating to the cause, sponsoring a cyclist, sharing the project far and wide, and even planning to join them to provide moral
support as they endure the physicalities of the journey.
