CALL FOR APPLICATIONS: TREASURER (VOLUNTARY POSITION)

Brotherhood E-hailing Association NPC invites, committed, and passionate individuals to apply for the position of Treasurer. This is a voluntary leadership role for a person who is dedicated to good governance, financial accountability, and the advancement of the organisation's mission.
Position: Treasurer (Volunteer)
Term: As prescribed by the Constitution/Memorandum of Incorporation (MOI)
Reporting To: Board of Directors / Executive Committee
Location: South Africa (Remote and/or Hybrid)
Purpose of the Role
The Treasurer serves as the principal financial oversight officer of the organisation and is responsible for ensuring sound financial management, transparency, compliance, and accountability in accordance with the organisation's governing documents and applicable legislation.
Key Responsibilities
Provide financial oversight and strategic financial guidance to the organisation.
Monitor income, expenditure, and cash flow.
Ensure proper financial records are maintained.
Present financial reports to the Board, Executive Committee, and Annual General Meetings.
Assist in preparing annual budgets and financial forecasts.
Ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory financial requirements.
Oversee banking arrangements and financial controls.
Support fundraising initiatives through financial planning and reporting.
Work closely with auditors, accountants, and other relevant stakeholders where applicable.
Safeguard the financial integrity and assets of the organisation.
Minimum Requirements
Financial management, accounting, bookkeeping, auditing, commerce, or related experience.
Understanding of governance and financial accountability within a Non-Profit Company (NPC) environment will be advantageous.
Strong integrity, professionalism, and attention to detail.
Ability to interpret financial statements and reports.
Good communication and organisational skills.
Commitment to the vision, mission, and values of the organisation.
Important Information
This is a voluntary, non-remunerated position.
Reasonable expenses incurred while performing approved duties may be reimbursed in accordance with organisational policies.
The successful candidate will be expected to uphold the highest standards of ethical conduct and confidentiality.
