The Standerton Taxi Association is urgently looking for a 25 Years old and upwards person to assist in the debt collection on the financial department.

Minimum requirements:

The Jikeleza Line! 🚐

As per the Standerton Taxi Association we've heard the community request and complains regarding the local route e.g Rooikopen to Ext6, Mahala Park and the other way around.
The Association have sat several meetings in regards with this route, it has come to a final decision that the route will now be open.
The Standerton Taxi Association will be launching the Jikeleza Line on Thursday 22 October 2020 at 10h00am, the launch will be taking place at Sakhile RDP (Vodacom)
In this regard the launch means we will from Thursday 22 October 2020 have taxi's moving from and around Vodacom, Mahala Park, Emandiyeni, Extension 6 & 7, Rooikopen & other local routes at any time of the day in simple terms, people will be able to take a taxi from Rooikopen to Extension 6, Emandiyeni to Extension 6 and the other way around.

As the community of Sakhile at large you are urged to kindly work with us in this regard as we will be taking on this new route as it is new to everyone especially our drivers, should you encounter any problems please do not hesitate to contact our offices.

Taxi Fare

As the South African National Taxi Council(SANTACO) is in talks with the Government in regards with the Covid19 relief fund for the Taxi Industry, no agreement has been reached up to this point and therefore is aiming at increasing Taxi Fares to cover for the loss the industry has suffered.

The Standerton Taxi Association together with the Executive Committee have committed into not increasing the Taxi Fares this is in line with the Association assisting and considering the community struggle as we faced with this pandemic, the Taxi Fares will remain the same until further notice, this applies to all our routes(Local, Town, Long Distance).

We in this together & together we can beat this.

Stage 4/ Level 4 Lockdown

Members of the community, (Standerton/Sakhile & Surroundings)

Under the Stage 4 Lockdown some regulations were amended and that includes the operating hours of our vehicles(Taxis). As per the new regulations please note that taxis are and will operate from 05h00am to 08h00pm without stopping during the day, the number of passengers required in the vehicle remain the same, 10 passengers on a 15 Seater bus (Quantum) and 15 on a 22 Seater bus (Crafter/Sprinter).

It is by the regulations that all passengers in the vehicle including the driver must wear dust mask at all times, in this regard please note, should you not have a dust mask you wont be allowed to get in, please report anyone not abiding by this regulation should it be another passenger next to you or the driver of that vehicle and this may be reported to the Police or the office of the Association. We advice that people dont take unnecessary trips to town or other locations as we trying to stop the spread of this virus .

Long distance travels have been stopped, so under this regulation we wont be having long distance vehicles.

We do request that you work with us throughout this whole situation. This war can be won if we work together.

COVID19 Update.

Members of the community(Standerton/Sakhile and Surroundings)

As per the update from the President and the Minister of Transport, we as the Association do abide by the laws and work according to the government's request.
In this regard you are therefore informed that the recent and final verdict from the Transport Minister Mr F Mbalula, has said the operating vehicles must and should operate under strict hours, from 05h00am to 10am and again in the afternoon from 16h00 to 20h00 at night, all taxis/vehicles along with the driver must have permit to operate even within the stipulated hours. It is by obligation that a 15 seater vehicle(quantum) should load only 10 passengers and can load 15 passengers if they all have dust masks, a 22 seater vehicle(Crafter/Sprinter) should only load 15 passengers and can load 22 if they all have dust masks, all vehicles/taxis should have a spray bottle of Sarnitizer and all passengers must Sarnitize before they get in the taxi.

We hereby and kindly request the community to work with us in this regard and in the fight against this virus, and to avoid all the road blocks and being late for your appointments we request that should the driver stop to pick you and there are already enough passengers in the vehicle please do not get in, take the next taxi if there is non please contact the Association office.
