A few snapshots from another incredible two weeks in the field.

This course brought together qualified veterinary nurses and a veterinarian, all looking to gain practical experience in wildlife medicine, capture, and conservation work.

From monitoring anaesthesia on immobilised wildlife to performing pregnancy testing, collecting diagnostic samples, and assisting with animal relocations, participants were fully immersed in the realities of wildlife veterinary work.

Working with 116 animals and 13 different species during the programme, they were able to build practical skills, confidence, and experience that simply cannot be replicated in a classroom setting.
From early starts and long field days to unforgettable wildlife encounters, every experience offered an opportunity to build confidence, strengthen existing skills, and learn from real-world situations.

Wildlife medicine is about far more than treating animals.

It’s about teamwork, adaptability, critical thinking, and understanding the vital role veterinary professionals play in conservation.

Thank you to this fantastic group for your enthusiasm, professionalism, and willingness to embrace every opportunity that came your way.

Because conservation doesn’t happen on its own.

It happens through dedicated people who continue learning, growing, and showing up for wildlife, with a little wind swept added in 💁‍♀️
