Hi again. So my next post hopefully will state in a nutshell what the initiative is.

I guess most people who are reading these posts have been through their own fair share of loss. Whether it be losing a loved one or just an emotional loss or just feeling a sense of loneliness.

Can you imagine spending every weekend on your own and most of the week indoors?

Many of the people I assist with rides do just this. I am guessing and know too that their families are not concerned about them anymore because they see them as a burden. Some I come into contact with do not even have family.

Ok so you get the point.

Some can’t relate to this all cause it’s just not a reality for them.

Anyway, before I depress you completely I thank you for reading.

If you would like to help make life a little perkier and exciting for some of them please read and watch the video of my next post.

More on what I do.

There is a program called the HBC Program that I help out with rides in Johannesburg. It is a Home Based Care Program that offers certain services to Jewish persons that are living on their own.

Most if not all struggle with health and financial issues. So the rides that I help with are to General Hospitals, Doctors, Government departments and an array of requirements that these folk need transport to.

When I started I thought it was going to be simple. Pick up, drop off, that's all.

But along the way it becomes more than that. You get exposed to people who are struggling in life and are in situations that are really dire. You cannot help being affected by their experiences. It’s something one cannot just “shake off” and move on.

Sometimes you just want to “tune out”. Get from A to B and go home. Sometimes you know there is nothing more you can do but listen with empathy.

So I thought I could try, with your help, to offer an outlet.

It's been a while since listening to Crosby Stills Nash and Young's Four Way Street.
Some of you may not know what the %0@%% I'm talking about but it's something that still comes to mind from their album I listened to many years ago.

Ok so cutting to the chase. I am based in the North Eastern Suburbs of Johannesburg. The Greater Glenhazel area.

I work with a well known organization, here in Johannesburg, South Africa, called the Chevra Kadisha. Apart from that I do private rides. This includes deliveries, Doctor appointments also to and from Oliver Tambo International or whatever else crops up.

I think it was the Late Dave Crosby who said, before launching into the acoustic performance of “Triad” that: "We write a lot of our songs just right out of what goes on, you know—to us. About the people that we love and stuff and things that happen to us, you know, 'cause like that's what you have to write about if you're gonna get down to stuff that means anything to you."

So I’ll be writing posts about my drives, thoughts that come to mind and especially about the people I come into contact with.

There is also an initiative that would be great to make happen. More on this later.

Posts will be short for time's sake.
