Tolbos Karoo Uitleg / Tolbos Karoo Layout Welcome to Tolbos, Klein-Karoo (South Africa). This page is dedicated to my HO scale model train layout depicting a typical Karoo landscape circa 1950-1980.

The layout is DCC powered and all my locomotives have prototypical sound schemes. Enjoy!

The last couple of months I received a couple of (strange) requests for more artillery and armored pieces. So I obliged....

The last couple of months I received a couple of (strange) requests for more artillery and armored pieces. So I obliged. I added a Ratel 20, G6 and Olifant to my collection.

Whilst the Ratel 20 and Ratel 90 fitted with no problem on the SMLJ and SHLJ wagons, the photos will clearly show why the Olifant and G6 was not suitable for rail transportation. This is of course apart from their weight limitations.

My military train is complete. 2 x G2 guns, 2 x Elande, 4 x Buffels, 1 x Rooikat, 7 x Ratels, 2 x CASSPIRs, 1 x XP dieseltanker, 1 x XH watertanker en 1 x Compo. Lekker julle!!!
