Hey guys ! It really has been a while since we updated here !

So far in the last couple of months, we have assisted two companies in proving that 9 of their drivers have been draining fuel out of their tanks and selling it to other undesirable people.

While questioning one driver, he admitted that he has been doing this on every Dbn - Jhb trip that he does. On average he does trip 3 times a week. this means that he has been dropping 240 liters every week. At the current fuel price, this means he has cost the company R3000 on fuel loss every week. This guy admitted that he has been doing this for three years ! The total cost is around R468k !!!

Needless to say that there are a 9 fewer diesel leaks that we "need to keep an eye on" !

So I get this call from a client on Saturday telling me that he has noticed that the Fuel system that we installed into one of his vehicles less than a week ago has shown that there is a fuel loss.
I recommended that he call the driver in and find out what happened.

So the story goes that the driver drained out 13 odd liters to "try and clear the diesel line of a blockage" ! Driver not only did not report that there was a fuel problem, but also failed to bring the "drained, dirty" diesel back to the workshop !
Because we were able to pinpoint the time of the event and how much diesel was taken, the driver now has agreed to pay for the "drained, dirty diesel".
If this isn't proof enough that the Digit Fuel system works, then I don't know what is !!!
Client just ordered another four Digit Fuel systems to be fitted as soon as possible !!!

Watching a fleet operator bang at a keyboard trying to get a new position from a vehicle that he is trying to find can be rather frustrating (or amusing)for anyone. Why would you need to "request" a position from a fleet management system ? Surely it should keep updating its position every so often, even when the key is off ?

No matter how good the fleet management product is that has been fitted to your vehicle, if you do not maintain the vehicles battery and cables, nothing will work properly !
