Day 1 of The Business Show & there were 32k SMME’s in attendance!

It was an epic day of learning, growth & exposure to vendors we didn’t know existed or vendors we knew existed but didn’t understand how their offerings were tailored for small business!

We had amazing speakers & I took so many notes! Here are a few things that stayed in my mind:

🌸 Be more interested & less interesting (key to networking)
🌸 Constantly tweak your business plan to make it investor ready
🌸 Credit is the bridge to growth
🌸 FNB speed point transaction fees are cheaper than Yoco
🌸 Courier Guy offers a discounted rate for E-commerce businesses
🌸 Make sure employees sign NDAs
🌸 A great idea is not automatically a business
🌸 A business model canvas is imperative
🌸 You are allowed to pivot - you can change a product to fit the market or change the market to fit the product
🌸 When 1 door opens - go through it & wait for the next 1 to open - don’t relax
🌸 Funding does not create a great business - a great business attracts funding

This social media thing is tough man!

Sometimes if your video is really impactful & people are engaging & liking - it tells the algorithm to push it further - so here we are with 7k views & 100 likes & that’s a massive milestone coz normally we are on 200 views with 2 likes!

Are we saying that people watched our whole reel & just hated it? Or are we saying people are too lazy to react? Or do people not know what their ‘reaction’ does for small businesses?

Let’s be serious now!

A box of smarties comes in 24s, fruity chews in 20s, sherby sweets 24s, bubbles 12s, Nik Naks 50s, gloss paper 50s!

There’s no way we can accommodate an order for 4 party packs because it entails the same amount of time for design, the same amount of ink for printing & then purchasing the qtys of sweets specified above at 1 time.

I responded politely to explain the minimum qty & wasn’t met by ‘I understand’ or ‘thank you for responding’ etc - just a GHOST!

Hope this helps clients understand not only the minimum qty requirement but also the price for custom party packs💕
