The 2026 Innotrans exhibition focused on the overall theme "Mobility on a Global Scale - Shaping Projects and Growth Opportunities".

This included innovations around AI and AI Mobility Lab; Electrification and Alternative Propulsion Solutions; Mobility+ and Connected Public Transit; and High-Speed Rail and Global Expansion.

Gibela is well on its way to implementing innovations to suit the south African and the African continent demands. The most important innovation already implemented is passenger safety and comfort to our train manufacturing efforts.

Gibela women executives were part of the Women in Rail initiative during Innotrans 2026.

The event allowed networking opportunities within Women Empowerment and Leadership, Research and Innovation, Rail Operations and the Next Generation in Rail.

The initiative emphasized the promotion of inclusion leadership and equal opportunities for women. In addition, women were encouraged to contribute in research initiatives and participate in rail focused studies and careers.

Gibela is already leading the charge in women executive management and decision makers, making room for the next generation of women leaders in rail.
