UPDATE: The Love Agenda β€οΈ
In the first picture below, we prayed with and encouraged this amazing young man who is just broken by what has happened.
He works hard, has no bad habits, and uses his hard-earned money to buy stock, which he resells through his tuckshop, hoping to build a better life for himself one day. Sadly, everything he worked so hard for has been destroyed by the fire. π
He showed us where his home and tuckshop once stood. It was heartbreaking. Absolutely nothing could be salvaged. Fridges, beds, cupboards and appliances were all burnt. Only the shells of a few appliances and bed springs remained as evidence of what once was.
RELIEF EFFORTS TODAY β€οΈ
βSome clothing and household items were dropped off today.
βA huge thank you to Chantel and the team from Capello, South Coast Mall, for preparing soup and bread for the affected families. Your kindness is deeply appreciated.
βThank you to Industrial Supplies β ISC for assisting us with a chainsaw to clear the huge trees that had fallen as a result of the fire, so that rebuilding efforts can begin.
URGENT NEEDS π¨
π STATIONERY:We have received R150 towards stationery so far. Students need stationery to return to school tomorrow. If you can assist, please contact us. You can buy and donate stationery or make a financial contribution.
ποΈ BLANKETS & MATTRESSES: Sadly, families have not received assistance with blankets or mattresses. Last night, they had to sleep on the floors of the churches where they were temporarily housed. Several children have also been affected.
These families have lost so much, and the road to rebuilding their lives is going to be a difficult one. Every contribution, no matter how small, can make a difference.
