Ode to Laylah Hope Scheffers

It's been 3 Months since you left us, Laylah. Three months where I revisited an old heart ache and the death of Myles too. 🫂

Seeing your cousin in pain wasn't something I was not prepared for . None of us were. Grief isn't linear but this time it is hard to see your mommy grieving and I can't help her or fix her pain. 🕊️
Your Sissie grief hurts us the most 🦩

I understand Hannah's pain more than anyone. Losing your sibling is something most people overlook. You are young and it will heal quickly. I doubt anyone who said this, understands the bond of two siblings. 🪽🪽

It's like a sting and emptiness you can't explain to anyone who has not lost a brother or sister at a young age. I know your mommy and daddy are doing everything to help you.

You have been loved and protected by Hadley with all of his heart ❤️💝 His doing the same for Hannah.

Ps. I loved video chats , You looked so forward to these calls . You were like Hadley's baby sister, he wanted. (Ps don't tell me I should have more children. it was a personal choice) When you were only two years old you sounded like you were 10 years old.You truly were an old soul.

I didn't even care if you called me Hadley mommy.

Let people misinterpret you.
Let people create an image they want to believe about you.
Let people say anything they want to say.

Let them be.

Let them judge you.
Let them condemn you.
Let them do whatever they want by just holding a small piece of you, by just hearing a portion of your story, and by just seeing you mess up.

Let them be.

Anyway, you don't have to prove yourself. You don't have to please them and beg for their attention. You don't have to tell them everything and make your story known to everyone to be understood and accepted. Because even if you did, they would not, especially when their mind is fixed on what they believe about you.

When they are only waiting for your actions to support their claims. So instead of working to win people's hearts, work on building yourself. Work on knowing yourself so deeply that people will be afraid of getting in and being buried alive. Learn from your mistakes, embrace positive changes, and be there for yourself when no one else is.

That's how most people survived.
