"Mindcars, a progressive metal project created by South African guitarist and composer Doug Jenkinson (Raptorbaby, Their Death Becomes Her), is an exploration of vibrant and intense progressive metal with a distinctly metalcore and death metal bent that hearkens back to the late 2000s era Sumeriancore bands.
The project's first release, Origins and The Fall, is a 7 track epic that utilises a multi layered assault of guitars, synths and effects to immerse the listener in the ultimate progressive “wall of sound”. Inspired by modern prog metal giants such as Periphery, Devin Townsend, Haken and The Safety Fire sprinkled with rock influences such as Muse, The Dear Hunter and even Death Cab for Cutie, the album explores a variety of emotional palettes, melding ethereal space rock, romantic metalcore, teeth grinding tech death and stomping djent into a 53 minute instrumental rollercoaster."
Origins And The Fall releases on December 9th, 2022 on all major streaming platforms including Spotify, iTunes and Bandcamp.
