A new journey into professional driving has begun in Saldanha.

Pindulo VDM recently welcomed the 2026 Professional Driving Learnership intake, delivered in partnership with HE and SHE as the accredited training provider.

The intake was conducted by Nazihah Essa, our Organisational Development Graduate, marking her first independent intake since joining Pindulo VDM in 2026. Nazihah was supported through our Bursary Programme from 2023 and in 2026 became the first graduate from the programme to join the Pindulo VDM team.

There is something meaningful in that progression: from being supported in her own development to now playing a role in creating development opportunities for others.

The 12-month programme combines theoretical learning with practical workplace experience, building the driving capability, road-safety awareness and operational knowledge required to work professionally within the transport industry.

Over the next 12 months, what is learned in training will be put into practice - developing the judgement, responsibility and consistency that professional driving demands every day.

Yesterday marked the start of something that matters.

Pindulo VDM welcomed a new cohort of learners to our Alrode operations as they began a Supply Chain Management NQF Level 5 learnership, delivered in partnership with Gauteng City College.

The programme is designed to create genuine career access in supply chain and logistics for people with disabilities. Not workplace exposure alone. Not simply a qualification on paper. A structured pathway that combines formal learning with practical experience in a working logistics environment.

From their first day, these learners are beginning to connect what they learn to how logistics actually works, across operations, systems and the decisions that keep supply chains moving.

📣 VACANCY: ASSISTANT STOREMAN

PINDULO VDM (Pty) Ltd, an industry leading freight and logistics company, is currently looking for an Assistant Storeman to join our team at our Head Office in Saldanha, Western Cape.

The successful applicant will be responsible to assist with the administration, control and maintenance of accurate stock levels within the Workshop store environment.

Duties of the job include, but are not limited to:

• Receive goods into the Workshop using the appropriate software. Ensuring all paperwork is correct and goods received are in good order, assisting admin staff to ensure that accurate stocks are held in the Workshop.
• Ensure a FIFO stock rotation system is operated, keep the stores in a clean and safe working condition and store goods in the right location to minimize waste.
• Support our workshop team by carrying out physical stock checks when necessary and maintaining a high standard of stock accuracy within the Workshop.
• Maintain the Workshop store to a safe and clean standard to ensure ease of availability of stock, keep the Workshop clean and tidy to ensure safe working practices and to allow the Workshop to function efficiently and comply with safety legislation.
• Issue stock to workshop personnel as per job card and record issued stock on the computer system.
• Assist in the breakdown process to ensure that goods are dispatched to the relevant person in charge of the breakdown on a right first-time basis.
• Placing orders with approved suppliers in compliance with stock requisitions.

Minimum Requirements:

• Matric/ Grade 12 is a minimum requirement
• Previous experience working as a workshop storeman is preferrable
• Must be willing to work overtime/ work certain Saturdays and Sundays
• Must be computer literate (MS Office Suite)

Marnia Opperman is in her second year of a BAccLLB degree at Stellenbosch University, pursuing the demanding path towards becoming a Chartered Accountant.

Her academic journey has been marked by consistent excellence. Her Matric results placed her among Stellenbosch University's top-performing incoming first-year students, earning her the University's Undergraduate Excellence Award. She built on that achievement by earning distinctions in every subject during her first year and finishing the year with an overall distinction average. Those results have now earned Marnia a second Undergraduate Excellence Award, this time in recognition of her achievements during her first year at Stellenbosch University.

Although accounting first sparked her interest in high school, Marnia chose the combined Accounting and Law degree because it would challenge her beyond a traditional accounting qualification while keeping her focused on the career she ultimately wants to pursue.

Through Pindulo VDM's bursary programme, Marnia has been able to pursue her studies at Stellenbosch, including a place in Irene Residence, where she was selected as both an academic and wellness mentor for first-year students. During the 2025 and 2026 university holidays, she returned to Pindulo VDM for vacation work, gaining practical experience alongside her academic studies.

"The effort I put in today shapes the opportunities I'll have in the future," she says. "I want to make the most of my time at university and not look back with regrets about opportunities I didn't take."

Academic success is built through consistent effort, discipline, and a willingness to embrace opportunities beyond the classroom. Marnia's achievements reflect all three, and we are proud to support her journey through our bursary programme.

Women's Day is bigger than one post can hold, but three stories are a good place to start.

Sisipho Jeanette Deli graduated from Pindulo VDM's Environmental Practice Learnership in 2026. "The opportunity has helped me grow both professionally and personally," she says. "I've gained confidence, developed practical skills, and learned what it takes to work in a fast-paced environment."

Nomalwandle Xabendlini is currently completing her Professional Driving Learnership, supporting warehouse and depot operations while helping keep deliveries on schedule. "It has meant growth, confidence and purpose," she says. "It's given me skills, responsibility and a chance to prove myself in a space where women are still growing."

Lona Ndabeni is also completing her Professional Driving Learnership, developing practical skills in vehicle inspections, road safety, and the responsible operation of heavy vehicles.

Each of them had something to say to the next woman considering this path-

Nomalwandle: "Go for it. It might look tough from the outside, but it's full of opportunity. Show up, learn, work hard, and take up space."

Lona: "Be willing to learn, remain disciplined and believe in your ability. With commitment and the right support, there are many opportunities for us to grow."

We are looking for a hands-on, experienced Workshop Supervisor to join our Workshop team. This role plays a vital part in overseeing our trailer repair and maintenance operations, as well as day-to-day site management at our Alrode depot, ensuring quality workmanship, efficient turnaround, and strong cost control across all repair work.

This is not a general workshop role, we are specifically looking for someone with deep knowledge of truck trailer repair, who understands the workmanship, structural requirements, and cost implications involved.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise and manage a team of technicians responsible for the repair and refurbishment of truck trailers
• Oversee all workshop operations, ensuring quality workmanship, efficiency, and turnaround times are met
• Manage day-to-day site operations at the Alrode depot, including staff, housekeeping, and site safety standards
• Prepare accurate job costings for trailer repairs and refurbishments
• Inspect trailers to assess damage and determine the scope and cost of repairs
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and workshop standards
• Manage parts procurement, stock levels, and supplier relationships in support of repair operations
• Maintain workshop records, job cards, and reporting
• Liaise daily with operations and logistics management regarding trailer availability and repair priorities

Minimum Requirements:

• Proven experience in the repair and/or refurbishment of truck trailers (essential)
• Previous supervisory or team leader experience managing staff in a trailer repair or panel beating environment
• Experience with site management or overseeing depot/workshop operations advantageous
• Ability to compile job costings and manage repair budgets
• Strong knowledge of trailer structures, components, and repair techniques
• Experience in a similar role at a trailer manufacturer, repair specialist, or panel beating facility repairing heavy vehicle trailers
• Must have completed matric (Grade 12); a trade qualification or relevant technical certification advantageous

• Capture and process job cards accurately for all internal workshop activities.

• Liaise daily with mechanics and fleet controllers to track job progress and update ETCs (Estimated Time of Completion)
• Prepare and maintain documentation for RTMS audits and ensure ongoing compliance with regulatory standards
• Manage fleet maintenance tracking sheet for all scheduled services, repairs, and breakdowns
• Manage detailed maintenance history files for all vehicles, including scanned job cards, invoices, and service records
