Under blue skies, our crew has been doing the logistical hustle, putting on the final touches, and feeling proud with Marnie Kai 3 and Tiger Lily side by side on the docks.

Annapolis has transformed into this buzzing “sailing capital of America.” A massive shoutout to everyone involved!

Fresh off an Atlantic crossing and straight into SAIL Magazine’s Top 10 Best Boats.

SAIL Magazine’s Charter Editor and USCG 100-ton master, Zuzana Prochazka met Balance founder Phil Berman in Miami to sea trial 502 Hull #1, Tiger Lily.

Engineered with Carbon Core construction, the 502 was purpose built to carry bluewater cruising payloads without shedding an ounce of its high-speed performance.

Read what happens when advanced multihull design meets real-world testing in light air. The official verdict on the new Balance 502:

“Our test day served up mild conditions with true winds of 8-15 knots and a small chop. In 9.1 knots true, we sailed 6.9 knots of boat speed at 80° apparent wind angle (AWA). That’s a whopping 75% of wind speed.

When we cracked off to 120° AWA, we made good 9.2 knots although the wind had piped up to 14 knots by then.

The helm was fingertip light and our tacks were crisp. The polar diagrams suggest that she’ll sail at wind speed given 20 knots at 110° on flat water which left me wishing for more wind.”

Taste is subjective and we love that.

One of our recent interior reels received some of the strongest and most polarized comments we've ever seen. People either loved the bold choices or really didn't. And honestly, that's the point of a semi-custom build. Your Balance should reflect your personal style the same way your home does.
