NOTICE

SARS (South African Revenue Service)

SARS- Customs and Excise have implemented a ruling that all transporters carrying bonded cargo must have their OWN remover code. It permits Transporter(s) to carry bonded cargo. Without it they fine transporter(s) R25000.

Customs has advised us the following.

*FOREIGN HAULIER*

1. A Foreign is permitted to carry bonded cargo out of RSA under cover of a letter of the registered remover in RSA.
2. Block 59 on the SAD502 must indicate the RSA entity with the registered remover code.
3. Block 60 on the SAD502 must be blank.

*RSA HAULIERS*

1. A RSA haulier registered as a remover is permitted to sub contract another RSA haulier who is registered as a remover.
2. The First haulier must be inserted in block 59 of the SAD502 with his remover code.
3. The sub-contractor details with their registered remover code must be inserted in block 60.

Other than the above NO RSA HAULIER THAT IS NOT REGISTERED AS A REMOVER will be permitted to carry bonded cargo.
