🚧 Traffic Alert – Albion Park Rail
🗓 Saturday 16 May – Sunday 17 May

With the air show on this weekend, heavy traffic is expected along the Princes Hwy, the M1 Princes Mwy and Tongarra Road. Please take care on the roads, follow directions of traffic controllers and allow extra travel time.

Those attending the event are encouraged to catch public transport and are reminded that no general parking is available at Shellharbour Airport.

Attention all pilots flying in the vicinity of Wollongong and Shellharbour this weekend!

A temporary restricted area (TRA) will be in place within a 5 NM of Shellharbour Airport for the Wings Over Shellharbour air show.

The restrictions will be in place on:

> Friday 15 May between 12:30 - 4:30 PM AEST
> Saturday 16 May between 10:30 AM - 4:30 PM AEST
> Sunday 17 May between 10:30 AM - 4:30 PM AEST

There will be low level flying displays throughout the event, including a display from the Air Force Roulettes.

All pilots operating in the area should monitor NOTAMs for the latest updates and operational information.

If you fly a drone, the air show is not the place to use it – leave it at home. Always check a CASA‑verified drone safety app to know where it’s safe to fly: https://bit.ly/Drone-Safety-apps

Airspace restrictions can change at any time. It is your responsibility to make sure that you do not fly in areas where restrictions are in place.

Shellharbour City Council is saddened to hear of Link Airways’ decision to suspend passenger services from Shellharbour Airport.

We recognise this decision has not been taken lightly, reflecting the challenging environment and broader cost pressures affecting businesses and households. While we understand these realities, we know this news will be disappointing for our community.

Shellharbour Airport is a key economic driver that supports connectivity, business, tourism and essential travel. Council values its long standing relationship with Link Airways and is continuing to work with the airline as we manage this transition.

Council will continue to work with airline partners to support the return of passenger services.

Anna Glynn: South Coast Myths & Tales, brings the terminal to life with vibrant works inspired by the history and stories of our beautiful South Coast.

Shellharbour City Council is deeply saddened by the fatal incident that occurred at Shellharbour Airport today, Saturday October 11.

Relevant authorities are currently reviewing the incident and as a result, it is likely that the airport will remain closed today.

Council will continue to work with the ATSB and will provide additional information as soon as we know more.
